Hanegmon is the Optimizer for the Iron Range Makerspace and is a graduate of Iron Range Engineering. During his schooling, his team helped him with a senior engineering design project developing the Iron Range Makerspace LLC which since has become an impactful grass roots movement of innovation and entrepreneurship for Northeastern MN. His passion is for centralizing community resources into one collaborative environment designed for innovation with hopes of sparking new business and enhancing current businesses.

Iron Range Makerspace’s (IRM) mission is to centralize resources into one collaborative environment designed for innovation. Its vision is to enable entrepreneurs to prototype products and start businesses at a considerably lower price than otherwise possible. IRM is able to do this by providing a membership based facility (about $40/mo), which was initially funded by a $15,000 Kickstarter campaign, over 3,000 hours of volunteer labor to remodel the facility, about $170,000 worth of DONATED equipment, and strong partnerships with small and large local organizations. The tour will feature a fabrication bay, woodshop, blacksmithing area, clean and high tech labs, commercial kitchen, recording studio, and much more.
