Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is NORTHFORCE?
A: NORTHFORCE is a regional initiative aimed at attracting and retaining a skilled workforce in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. We connect talented individuals with employers and vice versa.
Q: How do I use NORTHFORCE?
A: As an individual: Register to create a profile and we will match you with jobs based on your skills and interests.
As an employer: Register to post jobs on our site and connect with talent that is interested in living and working in this region.
Q: Is there a fee?
A: No! It is completely free for individuals and employers to sign up for NORTHFORCE, search jobs, and post jobs.
Q: What area do you cover?
A: The Four NORTHFORCE Regions cover 10 counties in Northwest Wisconsin and the Arrowhead Region of Northeast Minnesota. We network from Ashland to International Falls and from Grand Rapids to Grand Portage.
Q: Can employers see my profile?
A: Yes — and no. Only if you want them to! The ability for employers to be able to search candidates and resumes is one of the major advantages of our site. If you choose to have a public profile then yes, registered employers will be able to find you when you match one of their openings. If you do not want your information shared, it is not public and only NORTHFORCE staff can see the information you provide.
Q: How are you funded?
A: NORTHFORCE is powered by The Northspan Group. Additional funding comes from many community partners, including: the Cities of Duluth and Superior; IRRRB; The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation; The Development Association; Allete; and more.
